Dear Friends of ConnectUS,

While we are stuck at home, many of us are attempting to use this time to do the deep cleaning and organizing we never seem to have time to do. There are ways you can help ConnectUS at the same time! Are you about to recycle paper or three-tab manila file folders? If the paper has a clean area 5.5 x 4.25 you can cut that out and save it for us. The paper is used for the "packaged by" slips we put in each kit our participants package.  The tab part of the manila file folders is used for tags for our bird feeders. If you come across pieces of satin ribbon 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2 inch wide and 12, 18, 24 or 30 inches long (or longer), please save them for us.  We use these for our angel necklace kits and our air fresheners. If you come across a half knitted scarf, feel free to finish it and donate to ConnectUS for our winter warm up kits. Come across a lot of small balls of yarn?  Knit a scarf with many mixed colors, or donate the yarn for someone else to do the knitting (knitting volunteers welcome!)  Have extra calico fabric sitting around? If your pieces are at least 18 inches square, we can use them for our air fresheners.  Have extra cardstock?  If the colors are bright (ConnectUS is a happy place--no serious colors for us 😊) we can use full sheets, half sheets or 1/4 sheet.

As I dig through my own piles I am sure more things will come to mind and I will let you know when that happens.  In the meantime, I miss you and I hope you are all doing well.
